Inspiration: A magical evening in Paris with Cartier

February 1, 2014

I always make it a point to take in a few exhibitions while traveling, as I may find something to inspire my next collection.  During my last trip to Paris I had the opportunity to see the exquisite Cartier exhibition at the Grand Palais, which explored the haute jeweler’s history from the founding of the Maison in 1847 to the mid-1970s.

On display were more than 600 extraordinary pieces commissioned by Rockefellers, Maharajas and Egyptian royalty. The exhibition was a treasure trove of bejeweled accessories, notebooks, drawings, and archival photographs that provided insight into the jeweler’s creative process.
